Period Understructures

A collection of the period understructures that I have created for a variety of projects.

Left: A Mid-1800's corset created for Penn State Centre Stage's Fall 2024 production of Sweeney Todd. Created using a pattern provided by Redthreaded.

Middle: Late 1800's Corset made using the drafting method from Stays and Corsets II by Mandy Barrington. Created with a coutil underlayer and a white bridal satin fashion fabric which was also used to create the matching exposed bone channels. Made for the 1875 Bustle Dress Project found Here.

Right: Bustle Cage and Petticoat made for the same 1875 Bustle Dress as the preceding corset. Created using instructions from the Foundations Revealed website and the book Period Costumes for Stage and Screen by Jean Hunnisett.
